Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American actor who is best known for his role as the star of the well-known television series Law and Order Special Victims Unit. While in college, he started to develop an interest in acting. While at his school, the University of Colorado at Boulder it was where he studied acting. Although he's been active on both television and films it is his characters on the smaller screen that earned him a cult fans. He's been able to seamlessly play the roles of characters from both sides of the law to grab an audience's interest. He played the part of a serial killer in his first television series project but later went on to play the role that of a NYPD detective. He was repeatedly nominated for the prestigious Emmy Awards, and the PRISM Awards. He is famous for his blue-piercing eyes that have been a signature and helped in portraying tough characters with a sense of humor. People's magazine's Sexiest Men Alive 2006 featured the actor.
